Today I got my mission call!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was just such perfect timing. I was home for the break and all weekend we
were spending time with family for the holiday.
Wednesday we were heading up to
Idaho
to have Thanksgiving with mom's family. We put a hold on our mail so we could
pick up the call there. Then we didn't have to wait for the mailman to come
before we left or open it later that night when we got home from
Idaho. The minute it was in my hand I just wanted to rip it open. I was so excited to see what was inside!
It was such a long drive up to
Idaho. I tried peeking but it didn't work. I couldn't see anything. I just put the envelope on my lap and tried not to think about it.
Eventually we made it. Everyone was waiting and already to hear the news. I was so happy because I ddint' want to wait one more second.
I tried to open it nicely but it wasn't cooperating. In the end I couldn't get it to open and lost patience. I just ended up demolishing the envelope and ripping it wide open.
Then I was holding my call!
I started reading it out loud. My eyes went ahead of where my mouth was at. I saw where I was going before I said it out loud. Then I just started laughing.
I have been called to serve in the Germany Berlin mission.
Nobody predicted that!
I report to the MTC on February 6 and will be speaking German.
I. Am. So. Excited!!!!!
P.S.
My mom told me that she had heard from people on Facebook that there is a postage trick. If you go foreign then you have more papers in your packet so the postage is $1.90 but if you are going stateside it is just $1.70. The postage on my envelope was $1.90 so maybe there is some truth to this Facebook theory...
